Nominee: I was officially nominated to join the Peace Corps Nov 10th, 2005. At that time, I was expected to leave sometime October 2006 to serve as a Science Teacher in Sub-Saharan Africa. After a combination of a medical deferal, vermicomposting, and french lessons, my nomination was changed to Environmental Education, Francophone Africa, leaving Mid-March 2007.
Invitee: I was officially invited to serve in the Peace Corps December 1st, 2006. I received my invitation packet in the mail on December 8th. My assignment: Agroforesty Volunteer, Madagascar. Orientation begins February 15th, 2007.
PST: Pre-service Trainee. I'll include staging in this section, but it really equates to the three months of in-country training required. (Coming soon!)
PCV: Full-blown Peace Corps Volunteer. Sworn in and everything. (Coming soon!)
